Gary Parker and Liz Francis at Cardiff Blues ground on Sunday part way through their Region to Region 100 mile bike ride.
A total of 31 riders undertook and completed the challenge and already raised over £10,000 for St. David's Hospice Care Newport.
This weekend Gary and Liz are taking part in this year's Region to Region charity bike ride. The event, which will feature Newport Gwent Dragons players and former players, will raise money to support the continued work of St David’s Hospice Care.
Are you up for the challenge? We invite you to join St. David's Hospice Care as they climb the three highest peaks in Wales! Setting out early in the morning on Saturday 25th June 2016 to tackle the three Welsh giants: Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan.
Gary did take part in the 2015 event but heavy snow conditions caused the Yukon Highways to be blocked and the support teams could not operate properly and the course had to be changed.
Hopefully conditions will be just right in 2016!
We are pleased to be sponsoring a table at the Kilimanjaro Dinner Dance this month to help raise funds for Faceup Cymru Charity and to show our support to Joanne Hawkins who is self funding her own Kilimanjaro Trek to raise money for the charity!
We are pleased to have helped St. David's Hospice Care raise between £15,000 - £20,000 in providing marshalls and safety to all who bravely abseiled down the Newport Transporter Bridge!
Well done to all who took part to raise money for such a fantastic charity.
Some people do the 3 peaks. Some people do them every year. How about the 3 peaks 3 times in 3 days !!
Gary completed the 3x3x3 challenge in good style in a variety of weather conditions from high winds and stormy wet weather to beautiful veiws and sunshine. "the snow on Snowdon was fun and made the last part of the ascent tricky".
